Roy Halladay will end his 16-year career as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Halladay will sign an honorary one-day contract so that he can finish his career with the Blue Jays, who drafted him in the first round of the 1995 amateur draft. The pitcher spent the first 11 seasons of his career with Toronto.

Halladay missed several months last season after having shoulder surgery and was largely ineffective in his limited appearances for the Philadelphia Phillies, where he has spent the last four seasons.

I hope he enjoys retirement.  We were blessed to have had him here for a few years.   Philly thanks you, Roy!!

If Jack Morris doesn't get into the HOF then Halladay shouldn't get in.

I grew up watching him and I've still yet to see a pitcher that so effortlessly delivers solid outing after solid outing. Sad day to see him go but I'm glad he didn't 'hang on' to sign with a contender in July/August. His time came - woulda loved to see him win his ring.

@dhzlatar Why should there be a debate? Seriously, I would be interested to hear any reason why he shouldn't get in. Besides not winning a World Series, I can't think of a reason.

@dhzlatar "Let the Hall of Fame debate begins."  There should be NO debate.  As a Sox fan, I saw him plenty of times and he was scary good, definitely one of the top pitchers of his time.

No offense, but lol what?  I didn't even use the park-adjusted/era-adjusted stats that make Halladay look even better, or bring up the teams these two pitched for.
