Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston will attempt to become the second straight freshman to win the Heisman Trophy when the award is announced on Saturday.

Winston, who was named the ACC’s player of the year, was one of six finalists announced by the Heisman Trophy Trust on Monday. There are six Heisman finalists for the first time since 1994.

Winston led the Seminoles to a 13-0 record while his team steamrolled opponents this season to earn a spot in the BCS National Championship Game against Auburn.  He ranks first in the NCAA in passing efficiency, passing yards per attempt and set the NCAA record for passing touchdowns by a freshman.

Also named Heisman finalists are Andre Williams of Boston College, Auburn running back Tre Mason, reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch.

Williams, a senior, ran for 2,102 yards, and 17 touchdowns, including racking up 200 or more yards five times this season and had a season-high 339 yards in a game against North Carolina State.

Mason ran for 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns, including an outstanding 304-yard, four touchdown performance against Missouri in the SEC Championship on Saturday.

Manziel actually put up better passing statistics this season than his Heisman winning campaign in 2012, throwing for 3,537 yards, 32 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, while completing 69 percent of his passes.

McCarron, who has won two national titles in the past three seasons, threw for 26 touchdowns, leading the Crimson Tide to a 11-1 record in 2013.

Lynch threw for 2,676 yards and 23 touchdowns and ran for another 1,881 yards and 22 scores. He was seventh in the Heisman balloting last season.

My vote will be to TRE MASON , THE AUBURN OFFENSIVE LINE HAS DONE IT'S JOB WELL ENOUGH FOR THEIR RUNNING BACKS AND QUARTERBACK MARSHALLTO PUT UP EXCELLENT NUMBERS WITH A SCHEDULE TOUGHNESS RATING OF 27... WHILE FSU RATING WAS 67TH, AND OSU IS AT 63.
