Baylor Bears coach Art Briles says he has not spoken with anyone about replacing Mike Shanahan, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

Briles has become a popular candidate to replace Washington’s current coach since it was reported the Shanahan had planned to leave the Redskins after last season until Robert Griffin III was injured in the playoffs. While the two-time Super Bowl winning coach has not yet been let go, many thought Griffin’s former college coach Briles would be a likely candidate for the job.

Briles told the Waco Tribune that he did not anticipate leaving his current job:

“I’ve had zero contact with anybody,” Briles said. “I’m a Baylor Bear — that’s all I’m concerned about.”

Briles signed a 10-year contract extension with Baylor last month, and the team won its first Big 12 championship on Saturday.
