The Houston Texans have fired head coach Gary Kubiak, owner Bob McNair confirmed at a press conference on Friday.

The MMQB’s Peter King had previously tweeted that he expected Kubiak to be fired on Friday. Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer was the first to report that Kubiak had been fired.

The Texans, who had been expected to be one of the AFC’s top teams this year, have lost 11 straight games and have the worst record in the NFL.

Houston lost 27-20 to the Jaguars on Thursday night.

Wade Phillips will be the team’s interim coach.

They needed a scapegoat for purposefully throwing all their games to get the #1 overall pick.  Kubiak and Jim Caldwell should start some kind of club.

Right now the Texans are the old Clippers of the NFL

Lousy athletic "leaders" even more lousy management.

"P-A-R-T of the team's downward spiral has to be pinned on the inconsistency of the game's most important position, quarterback."

Part? Part? How about most, if not all? The coach can't play quarterback.
Casey "Blind-As-A-Bat" Keenum? Matt "Zero Talent" Schaub?

Obviously the QUARTERBACKS can't play quarterback.

Firing the guy a bit more than a month after he almost checks out permanently behind the lousy play of these two bums?

Talk about kicking a man when he's down....Houston management is a bunch of rotten cold-hearted b#stards. All losers. Bottom feeders. Tripe. Period.

This is a sign of a week team owner, not a week coach.  Kubiak brought this team into the highlights.  Blaming him for one bad year, bs.

If the QB position stinks, the coach stinks.

While I wish him and his family the best in his recovery from his health scare, this should have happened 3 years ago. I give the owner credit for being a rare modern breed who patiently waited and gave the coach the opportunity but Kubiak just couldnt break through. Last year this team should have been the Super Bowl representative but they blew it the last quarter of the season and into the playoffs. While my dream is still for Jon Gruden to come home to Oakland, McNair would be wise to throw a nice sum of cash to Gruden to maybe entice him to come to Houston. It is an appealing job even though this season would tell you otherwise.

They needed this season. Needed a reason to clean house. That coaching staff has been a detriment to that team for years now. Underachievers if there ever was such a thing.

What a relief.... I didn't think we would ever see this day!
