Free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson and the Mets have agreed on a four-year contract, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports confirmed the four-year deal and reported it’s worth $60 million.

Talks between the former Yankees outfielder and the Mets had intensified after the Yankees signed outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York. The Mets reportedly were offering three years but added a fourth year.

Granderson will add much-needed power to the Mets lineup. He posted back-to-back 40 home run seasons for the Yankees before he was limited to 60 games last season due to a broken forearm in spring training and a broken pinkie during the season.

Kranderson.  Wait til you see him swing and miss at a ball right down the middle with a runner on 3rd and 1 out.  It will get old after the first month.

This one's under the radar.

An unusual fellow, Curtis.  Naturally a table-setter whose BA has sunk in pinstripes (3/.247), he's developed quite the power-stroke w/out sacrificing serious run production.  Curtis is in his prime (32) and those bones will heal.  Given what's been doled out lately (Ellsbury / Cano), he deserved the 4th year.  Nice pick-up, Mets.

Pedro Martinez, Johan Santana, Jason Bay, Curtis Granderson... doesn't it just have the writing all over it?

Glad he will not be playing for the Yankees......

@KeysSteven The only problem is that he's not playing in that Wiffle Ball Stadium in the Bronx anymore.  HRs are a lot harder to come by in Citi.

@GodofAcid I love how the BoSox fans are acting like Boston is the greatest team at signing guys and are the blueprint on how to run a team..laughable. Congrats on the Ring but STFU alreay, especially this Bahston bufoon.

It does a little bit. Could work out though. Hopefully better than Bonilla or Gilkey.

@JoeScott Yes, they moved the fences in and lower them. Last year Citifield ranked 10th in number of home runs hit. But homeruns in MLB were down over the previous year. I think baseball getting a hold of the PED situation is having some effect as homeruns are slowly decreasing. Wright said it's now a much fairer park to hit in but he lost a lot of homeruns from 2009-2011. Granderson will miss the short right field porch at Yankee Stadium. The majority of homeruns are hit to left field at Citifield.

They moved them in last year but it's still a tougher HR park than the one in (the) Bronx...
