Only one month after they released him because of a knee injury, the Patriots re-signed wide receiver Austin Collie on Thursday, according to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo.

New England’s receiving corps has been a source of concern all year, and while tight end Rob Gronkowski is back healthy, rookie receivers Aaron Dobson (foot) and Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) are battling injuries.

Collie, 28, caught three passes for 34 yards in limited action earlier this season. A fourth-round pick out of BYU in 2009, Collie showed the team he was healthy enough to return.

The Patriots (9-3), who are a game behind the Broncos for the best record in the AFC, play host to the Browns (4-8) on Sunday.

Great guy. Horrible team.

May he stay healthy and avoid injuries (especially further concussions).

This guy has to feel like he's hit the lottery. 'Hello Austin, you mind coming in and catching some balls from Tom'? Nice way to finish up a career.
