Nets coach Jason Kidd announces assistant Lawrence Frank being reassigned
Head coach Jason Kidd announced Tuesday that assistant Lawrence Frank will be reassigned effective immediately. Frank was Kidd’s top assistant and responsible for the defense. The Nets enter Tuesday giving up 102.4 points per game, sixth-worst in the league.
Kidd said Frank will not be on the bench or practice and will be doing daily reports.
Kidd, in his first season as a coach, said the change comes from having “different philosophies” with Frank and is about “moving forward.”
“This is the decision that I had to make and we made it and we move on,” Kidd said. “This is my decision in the sense of what I had to do. It’s about basketball. That’s it.”
Frank led the team earlier this season when Kidd was serving out his two-game suspension for being charged with DUI. Frank is currently on a six-year deal with the team that averages over $1 million a year.
