Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini’s hot seat got even warmer as the Cornhuskers came out listless and were beaten by Iowa 38-17 on Friday.

His comments after loss made the situation even more tenuous.

During the post-game press conference, Pelini lashed out at the officiating and talked about his job security.

“If they want to fire me, go ahead. I believe in what I have done and I don’t apologize for anything I have done,” Pelini said. “It’s incredible what we’ve gone through…I told those kids ‘You don’t have to apologize to anybody.’”

Pelini’s job security has been the topic in Lincoln for the past couple of seasons as his behavior toward game officials, his own starting quarterback and off-the record comments about the fan base haven’t done him any favors.

VIDEO: Nebraska coach Bo Pelini wasn’t fond of halftime question

Since Pelini took over the program in 2008, his team’s have lost four games each season and he has gone 3-3 in bowl games with no conference titles.

“I believe in what I’ve done, this program is heading in a good direction,” Pelini said.

Bo is one of the more entertaining coaches, but not one of the better ones. He's about to have a Donald Trump moment.

A better halftime question would have been "why are you such an a-hole, coach?"

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out...

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, foul mouth, temper, and classless personality and all. Will be interesting to see who they get...

Nebraska is used to being a national powerhouse, not a punching bag. If this is the best he can do, he needs to go. Chatter like this will not be good for recruiting  top prospects. Why would you go there if the coach is talking himself out of his job and the team is a loser. Real stupid guy.
