The Cavaliers are shopping second-year shooting guard Dion Waiters, who has worn out his welcome with several high-profile teammates, according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard.

Broussard reports the Cavs have approached three teams with specific players in mind: the Knicks’ Iman Shumpert, the Sixers’ Evan Turner and the Bulls’ Luol Deng. The Cavs are believed to have let other teams know that Waiters is available.

Waiters reportedly is open to being traded, but broached the possibility during a three-hour meeting last week with coach Mike Brown and general manager Chris Grant. Waiters reportedly has developed a contentious relationship with several Cavs including star point guard Kyrie Irving.

GOLLIVER: The Point Forward’s All-Grateful Team

Watier got into an altercation with Cavs forward Tristan Thompson during a players-only meeting after a 29-point loss to the Timberwolves on Nov. 13, according to the report.

Sources described the following account via ESPN:

Irving called the meeting after the game, and every player spoke. When Waiters was given the floor, he criticized Thompson and Irving, accusing them of playing “buddy ball” and often refusing to pass to him. Thompson took umbrage with Waiters’ words and went back at him verbally. The two confronted each other, but teammates intervened before it could escalate into a fight.

However, Waiters and Irving are not close. Waiters believes the Cavaliers have a double standard when it comes to Irving, sources said. Waiters feels that while Irving is allowed to get away with loafing defensively, making turnovers and taking bad shots, he is taken out of games for such things. Waiters has shared his views with Brown and Grant.

Waiters denied reports of the incident after returning from an unexplained absence that lasted several days.

For a while i have been saying the Heat needs to add a Wade jr....  to the roster and Waiters would be a perfect fit !!!

On side side note i notice Haslem hasn't been playing ... that idiot Eric Spo.. needed an injury to get Haslem out out the lineup.. to see what we all knew... Beasely was the better option by far off the bench... play to your strength... Haslem does not stretch the floor or provide nothing to the starting lineup.. the Heat were playing 4 on 5 anytime Haslem or Joel was in the game...

Get a Waiters and or Boozier (after the bulls release him) and the heat cannot be stopped

Gee, who have thought a 2nd yr nobody would complain about "self" over team?  Don't they know monkey boy is the best guard out there according to him?

Lol, Waiters is a head case. First he says he thinks he will be the best SG in the league in a couple years (fckin lol) and now this? And bitching about your franchise's best player is not the best way to get more playing time and get along with the team. If he wanted out he should have asked so instead of acting like a petulant child and creating this scene and bringing more negative attention to the LOLCAVS team.

Seriously I love Irving and want to see the cavs do well, but after seeing them squander their recent draft picks on silly picks (so far) other than Irving and maybe Thompson, I have no sympathy for that team.

Irving is a tremendous talent but he does not share the ball. He passes when he has to and only sets up a teammate as an afterthought when he gets blocked off on a drive. Right now he a ball-hogging two guard masquerading as a one. That make Waiters redundant. Of course this is a Mike Brown offense which always features a ball-hogger clogging up any offense flow.  Maybe start Jack at point and try some semblance of ball movement. And while they're at it, get a new GM who can evaluate talent and match it to the team needs.

"Waiters and Irving are not close." And who do you think will go? A lot of these athletes, especially in the NBA, can't understand that, although they've been the big star of the team from elementary school, high school and college, they aren't once they reach the pros. And that can be a hard lesson to learn.

Cavs will just trade Waiters for some washed up player or a nobody.

It's the Cleveland way.

Although it wouldn't surprise me that Waiters may be shopped around, considering the Cavs front office overdrafted this overhyped kid, just like their #1 pick this year, I wouldn't put too much stock in what Broussard reports. That homophobic a-hole is a sleaze ball of a report that would report anything and everything to get the first scoop, no matter how erroneous it may be. The Cavs are a joke. They have taken a true franchise player in Irving and have totally botched their least several drafts. What a joke.

So the Cavs- Management stayed with Waiters before they took Anthony a.k.a Dissappearance Act Bennett at No. 1 instead of Victor Oladipo, because they really thought their backcourt for the future was set. Really ... no.I mean really?

Oh man, I am not a superstitious person, but God really hates Cleveland, I guess!

The strange thing about all this is,the Cavs think LBJ will come back with all this disfunction. Thompson isn't that much better than Waiters, his only thing is he's fine with Irving and rept.by LBJ agent. I say get rid of Waiters and Thompson and hope that'll get you a high lottery pick.

if Waiters becomes a franchise player who is a perennial all star calibur guard then he can start complaining. otherwise just shut up and know your place on the totem pole.

So??

Not knowing much about Waiters?

Is he considered a good enough talent to be throwing Irving under the bus?  If not?  why is a veteran or GM not busting his chops and putting him in his place?

Sounds like he is a spoiled punk biatch that needs an azz whoopin.

@WHO*IS*ESPN kinda tough to follow your logic as Waiter's has been the Cav's best player over the past couple of games, that by in large were pitifully played by the Cav's. Maybe he is not the problem after all.

We will give you CJ McCollum for him straight up

@eddie767 The Cavs think Lebron is coming back?

The only people that talk about Lebron coming back to Cleveland are people that are not from Cleveland.  We don't want him.

@eddie767 Isn't that much better than Waiters? LOL. You are seriously an idiot. Tristan Thompson will be a bubble All-Star game selection this year. He averages nearly a double/double a game.  He is currently at 11.1 points per game and 9.4 rebounds.  Guys that do this aren't readily available in the league.  AND he's getting better every year.
