Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said that there is a “slim to none” chance that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will start Thanksgiving and wouldn’t name a starter for the game against the Detroit Lions.

McCarthy said during his press conference that Rodgers wants to play in the game and that he will prepare both Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien for the contest.

Flynn came on in relief of starter Tolzien during the 26-26 tie against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday and completed 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown.

“Matt Flynn played very well, he deserves to start,” McCarthy said. “I like the way Scott has grown. We’re going to do best we can to get both ready.”

Rodgers has been out since for the past three weeks after being injured in the Packers’ loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 9.

The Packers (5-5-1) are currently behind the Bears and Lions in the NFC North.

The guy who drilled Rodgers probably got an extra donation from his teammates after that game.  Look for a well-earned and much-deserved payback the next time these two teams hook up.

In most years slim to none would also be the Pack's playoff chances without Rodgers, but no one seems to want to win that division.

@xxman

It was a perfectly normal, legal hit.  I can understand being pissed at him if it was some sort of cheap shot, or Saints-esque bounty deal, but it was just a hard hit and mostly an awkward landing.

@anon76 @xxman Not only as it a normal hit/tackle, but the main issue is that he had the weight of two players land on him. If you watch the replay, one of the DB's was in there on the tackle also and went down with the LB and Rodgers. Was just an unfortunate hit, but nothing even remotely illegal.
