The University of Alabama assistant coach who provided safety HaHa Clinton-Dix with an improper loan during the summer is no longer employed by the university. A school spokesman confirmed that Corey Harris is no longer on staff. The Tuscaloosa News reports that Harris was fired.

The former Alabama assistant strength coach loaned Clinton-Dix fewer than $500 after the junior’s car was broken into.

Alabama’s compliance office placed Harris on administrative leave in September after an internal investigation discovered that Harris could be linked to a representative of a sports agent.

BURKE: From CEO to college football coach

Clinton-Dix was suspended for two games, but was cleared of having any contact with the agent’s representative, according to a source.

Harris was hired at Alabama on July 1, 2011 and made an annual salary of $43,260.

What? No big cover story hit piece like  George Dohrmann and David Epstein did to Ohio State? looks like there may be some favoritism going on within the ranks of Sports Illustrated. But then again, as Dohrmann and Epstein could have said, Sports Illustrated is just doing what magazines always do: sacrifice journalistic integrity and ethics to sell more magazines.
