The San Francisco 49ers and CB Tramaine Brock have agreed to a 4 year contract, worth $16 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Brock is scheduled to make his first official start of the season when the 49ers take on the Redskins on Monday night, after right CB Tarell Brown injured his rib in the team’s loss to the Saints on Sunday. He had previously served as the team’s nickel back after Nmandi Asomugha was sidelined earlier this season.

Brock is in his 4th year in the league, all of which have been with San Francisco.

4 million a year?  For a back up?

Bye-bye T Brown...

About 90% of the moves made by Baalke and Harbaugh have been pure gold. This is a preemptive move, and only a slight gamble, to lock someone up that they have plans for. Odds are this will look like a bargain in a couple of years.

@DODGERFAIL2013 You are so clever. Did you think of that all by yourself? So Kaep (at least get the nickname right) and the 49ers are failures? Are you referring to his 14-6 record as a starter or his NFC Championship? About one season under his belt as a starter, hamstrung by the play calling, and depleted at wide receiver. Still rather have him at QB than about 28 of the other guys that will start at QB on Sunday.
