Six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt says that the World Anti-Doping Agency’s investigation into Jamaica has cost him a lucrative sponsorship deal from a potential partner who believes he could be ineligible to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Bolt made the claim on Saturday, after he was named the International Association of Athletics Federations male athlete of the year. Jamaica has been under high-profile investigation by WADA. But the agency has pulled back on earlier threats after Jamaica’s commitment to boosting its anti-doping program.

Bolt said that the investigation is still hurting him, however. Here are his comments, via The Guardian:

“I know we’ve been going through a lot when it comes to drug testing, WADA and the IAAF, but this is causing a lot of problems for me,” he said. “When a sponsor came up to us and was saying ‘we’d like to sponsor you’. They then used an agency that does background checks to figure out if it’s viable to sponsor you and it came back that WADA had said I would not be eligible to run at the next Olympics. That information is not correct, so there are a lot of things that are going on with this drugs thing that I really feel they need to clarify because, for me, it’s causing problems for me when it comes to making money from my sport.

“We really need to get this out of the way and move past this, get the rules down, get everything straight and get it down fast, because we need to move on,” Bolt added. “In every sport there are drug scandals and problems, but people move past it. That’s what we have to do because it’s really costing me money now, and I’m not too happy about that.”

Quite a few of Bolt's teammates have tested positive and he is doing a Lance Armstrong in the  sprinting world.  Perhaps everyone is a bit jaded about one person being so dominate and being so physically 'gifted'.

I don't know if he or Jamaicans dope, but to say someone won't be able to do something, that is 3 yrs away, sounds strange. It seems like WADA and others are trying to fix races. Bolt likes his fame and what comes with it to much to lie about any if this,so any info on him better be true or WADA/IOC might pay more to him than he would've made from winning and endorsements.

Then someone needs to prove he's guilty and quit with the conjecture. Lance is Lance. Bolt is Bolt. Trying to connect them in any way is pointless.

More dopers caught in the U.S. than anywhere else.
