Mack Brown on Nick Saban to Texas rumors: No job to get ‘if I do my job’
Texas head football coach Mack Brown addressed the rumors that Alabama coach Nick Saban could replace him after the season by saying that he isn’t worried about the speculation.
Brown made the comments on CBS’ Tim Brando Show and said he wants to continue leading the program.
Brown’s job status has been in question since two early regular season losses to Ole Miss and BYU. Since then, the Longhorns have won six games in a row.
“Nick is a friend and he’s done a tremendous job at Alabama,” Brown said. “Nick’s not trying to get my job, I mean, I know Nick. So I don’t have to worry about that. And if I do my job, there won’t be any job to be open to get, so I think that’s the other thing.”
The Longhorns (7-2, 6-0 Big 12) host Oklahoma State on Saturday and end the regular season against fourth-ranked Baylor on Dec. 7.
