Baylor and head football coach Art Briles agreed to a new contract extension, which will keep him at the school through the 2023 season, reports Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News.

The new contract goes into effect after this season.

Briles signed a eight-year extension after last season, which averaged $3.5 million a season. This new deal will add three additional years. Baylor is set to open a new stadium in time for the 2014 season.

Baylor is ranked fourth in the Associated Press poll this week and are 8-0 for the first time in school history. They are fifth in the BCS standings.

Briles is in his sixth season at Baylor, where he has a 41-30 record.
