Celtics’ Jared Sullinger ‘day-to-day’ with bone bruise
Sullinger seemed to hurt his knee late in the second quarter, when Orlando small forward Mo Harkless collided with him while driving to the basket. Although Sullinger continued to play in the second half of the Celtics’ 120-105 victory, he left Tuesday’s practice early with a trainer to have his knee looked at.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens says the test was a precautionary measure:
“He’s got a sore knee and they are doing an MRI just to check out and see what’s wrong,” said Celtics coach Brad Stevens. “Nothing conclusive. And certainly day-to-day it sounds like they are looking at, but we just don’t know yet, so we want to make sure.”
The MRI results showed that Sullinger sustained a bone bruise in the collision.
Sullinger is in his second year in the league and is averaging 11.3 pts and 5.1 rebounds for Boston so far this season.
