Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook will make his return from two knee surgeries against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, The Oklahoman‘s Darnell Mayberry is reporting.

Westbrook has passed all of his medical and physical benchmarks in his rehab, and he, his reps, team physicians and medical experts agree that he is ready for action, according to Mayberry.

The three-time All-Star suffered a slight tear in his right meniscus during the second game of the Thunder’s first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets last season. He underwent surgery on April 27 and again in September.

He was expected to miss the first four to six weeks of the regular season. Oklahoma City has gone 1-1 in his absence.
