San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan will not play in Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers because of a chest contusion, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said.

Duncan suffered the injured in Wednesday’s victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. He had a CT scan on Thursday, and there is no timetable for his return.

Lakers guard Steve Nash will play against the Spurs after sitting out the second night of back-to-back games.

According to ESPN, the game will be the first since Nov. 22, 1996, that the teams have met and neither Lakers guard Kobe Bryant or Duncan will be in the lineup.
