Three ACL tears? No problem.

For the second time in three weeks, a player who had torn his ACL three times has been named NFC defensive player of the week.

Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas won for his Week 8 performance, in which he was on the field for every defensive snap in a win over the Eagles and made 11 tackles. He also had a strip-sack with Philadelphia on the Giants’ 2-yard line.

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis won the award after his 10-tackle, two-sack day in Carolina’s win over the Vikings in Week 6.
