The Vikings’ quarterback carousel may circle back to where it started this season.

According to head coach Leslie Frazier, Josh Freeman suffered a concussion during Monday night’s loss to the Giants and is symptomatic, so it’s “more than likely” that Christian Ponder will start Sunday night’s game against the Packers.

“We have to move forward as if he is not playing on Sunday night,” Frazier said of Freeman, who he had said on Tuesday would remain the starting quarterback despite going 20-for-53 on Monday.

Ponder was Minnesota’s starter entering the year but struggled. He lost his job to Matt Cassel and then the Vikings signed Freeman, leaving Ponder’s status with the team in doubt.

In three starts (all losses), Ponder threw two touchdowns and five interceptions and ran for two scores.

Doesn't it seem as if the circus has left the Meadowlands and made its way to Winter Park?

I have not been a Ponder fan, but I believe he would have completed many of the passes that Freeman missed Monday night.  The Vikings used a first round draft pick on him and they need to play it out.  None of the other two look like an answer to the team's long-term need for a "Franchise Quarterback," so they need to look to the draft expecting that they will have a rather high pick.
