At least three teams have contacted the Cleveland Browns about a possible trade for wide receiver Josh Gordon, ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reported Monday. And two of those teams have standing offers of a “high pick and a player” to the Browns, according to Schefter.

The Browns, however, are “balking,” Schefter reported. Browns coach Rob Chudzinski has said over the past few weeks that the team is not shopping and will not trade Gordon, comments that have been echoed by Browns CEO Joe Banner.

The 22-year-old Gordon, who was taken by the Browns in the second round of the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft, has 27 receptions for 450 yards this season. He has two touchdowns, including a 47-yard score.

The trade deadline is Oct. 29.

Its way to late to trade Gordon at this point, so don't buy into the hype. I'm there was a serious offer, it would have happened when T Rich was traded. Look how long its taking him to get familiar with indys offense. Don't see it happening. Halfway through the season, it would be a total waste for both cleveland and the team that would get him. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE....

Balking?   So, if the Browns approached the Patriots and asked if Tom Brady was on the market, and the Pats said "no", does that mean the Pats are 'balking'?!?      Schefter is acting like its the Browns obligation to the league to let Gordon go, or something...

He's gone.  Banner and Lumbago can't stand a Heckert pick being their best playmaker.  Cameron and Haden to follow.

bet he stays put, but no one needs a WR more than the Chiefs.  Bowe cannot stretch field, Avery comes and goes.  Need someone who can get downfield.  Do not even know if Alex Smith can throw it 40-50 yds, no one has been there to throw it to.  Got to like that D, though, reminiscent of the 1960's Chiefs, and Marty's Chiefs until his last 2-3 years.  Hoping the playoffs go better!  Have not won a playoff game since Montana.  Need to keep winning, split with Denver, make Pats, Broncos, Bengals, Colts come to KC.

The Browns need to trade Weeden for a couple beads and some really nice paintings of dogs playing poker. Okay, okay, forget the paintings. What? Okay, we'll give the other teams beads if they'll take Weeden.

@kiprave Their Trent trade is looking brilliant as of now... Talent is talent, whether the player was drafted by a different regime or another franchise

@Victory1 the Browns will only settle for a 1st. Detroit's not in the picture

@Richard99 As a pats fan I'm sold on that. Browns could certainly use another Brady understudy.

@Richard99 BB wont trade a second round pick for a guy who is one strike away from being suspended for a season.

@darquanpageNo, you won't. Please! The only way Cleveland fans stop watching is if they move the team again. Don't belittle the loyalty of Browns' fans. That's already battle tested.

@darquanpage If they can turn those picks into real talent in next year's draft, especially a franchise QB, the fans will be quite happy.

Not too sure they should be trading Gordon, but the Richardson trade is looking like pure genius.

@Mel you're just saying made-up stuff...   I don't recall any one asking about Richardson, nor the Browns denying they were shopping him.

@Mel That looks like a great trade given the way Richardson is looking in Indy

@Yipicya Actually, he probably is (if the Browns are smart). A bunch of contenders need a receiver. His value will never be higher.

@Bearsclone

I'm pretty sure they'll be able to get one of the big 5-6 QBs next year with the picks they already have.  The problem with shopping Gordon is that nobody that's picking ahead of the Browns right now will be interested in improving their current roster.
