Agent: Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski cleared to play Sunday
Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday against Jets game, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Gronkowski hasn’t played since the Patriots’ playoff win over the Texans in January and previously was not cleared to play following several surgeries on his left forearm.
Gronkowski reportedly appeared close to being cleared for last week’s game against the Saints. When the Pro Bowler was not cleared by Dr. James Andrews, ESPN reported that his absence was creating tension and resentment among some of his Patriots teammates.
Quarterback Tom Brady later said he didn’t see any resentment in the Patriots’ locker room.
Drew Rosenhaus said, "Rob Gronkowski has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game."—
