A league source told the Boston Globe that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will play when he decides he’s ready to play.

The team has cleared Gronkowski to play, but his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, uses Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. Andrews is not an expert in forearm injuries, but Gronkowski’s camp has advised him to listen to the counsel of Andrews. However, the Globe’s source adds that Andrews likely won’t be the one to clear Gronkowski to play.

The 24-year-old tight end initially broke his forearm Nov. 18 against the Colts, and opted to implant a device in the forearm to speed up his recovery. He also had back surgery June 18, but that recovery hasn’t been keeping him off the field–instead, it’s his forearm that’s kept him from starting this season.

ESPN’s Ed Werder said the Patriots do  not expect Gronkowski to play Sunday against the Saints.

IMO, Belachick would be wise to trade this delicate premadonna while he still have value. If he ever plays again this year he will surely break again and then they will get nada for him. Good player, but way to much trouble.....

Who's Ed Werder?

I've never heard of him. Sounds like misdirection BS.

Gronk is playing on Sunday. End of discussion.

@Cornerss Coming off a loss, sputtering offense, their opponent is 5-0 and one of the best teams in the league.  Yeah, I guess they don't need him.
