The Philadelphia Flyers have fired coach Peter Laviolette and are replacing him — at least in the interim — with Craig Berube, as first reported by Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News.

The Flyers announced Berube as their 18th head coach at a Monday morning press conference

There has been speculation that Laviolette would be the first coach fired in the young NHL season after an 0-3 start in which the Flyers have yet to score an even-strength goal and have been outscored 9-3.

CAZENEUVE: Flyers 9th in Eastern Conference Power Rankings

The Flyers lost to the Canadiens, 4-1, on Sunday night.
