New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez filed his second lawsuit in two days, this one for medical malpractice against the Yankees team doctor, Chris Ahmad, and New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia Medical Center, reports ESPN.com.

The lawsuit was filed at the New York State Supreme Court in the Bronx.

On Thursday, Rodriguez sued Major League Baseball and Commissioner Bud Selig, accusing them of pursuing “vigilante justice” as part of a “witch hunt” designed to smear his character and cost him millions of dollars that is left on his Yankees contract.

Rodriguez is under contract until the end of the 2017 season. He is scheduled to make $25 million next season, $21 million in 2015, and $20 million each in 2016-17.

MLB issued a statement calling Rodriguez’s actions “desperate” and said the lawsuit was in a “clear violation” of confidentiality provisions of the Joint Drug Agreement between MLB and the union.

“Mr. Rodriguez eagerly awaits the day when all of this legal jostling is finished, and he can share his story with the public and his supporters. Until then, he will continue to respect the confidentiality requirements imposed upon all through this process, while his legal team continues to do what is necessary to vindicate him,” Rodriguez’s publicist said in a statement.

The Yankees are not named in either lawsuit.

Another day, another frivolous smoke producing A-Rod lawsuit.  I hope he blows all his money on legal fees.

If A-Rod ever plays again for the Yankees and if in the course of playing, he gets injured, who treats him -- the team physician he just sued?

This won't end up being awkward at all...

That is not suing the Yankees (yet) as the lead-in headline at SI indicates: "Sues Yankees, too".

What a classless bum. I hope he loses all his lawsuits and goes broke.
