Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs said he thinks NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was behind the lights going out in the Superdome during Super Bowl XLVII.

Suggs’ accusation falls in line with retired linebacker Ray Lewis’ hint that the NFL attempted to eat into the Raven’s 22-point lead and get the 49ers back into the Super Bowl by turning out the lights. The NFL blamed the 34-minute, third-quarter power outage on an “abnormality.”

The Baltimore Sun reported on Suggs’ interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters in an E:60 magazine series segment scheduled to air Tuesday evening.

The Sun provided a portion of the transcript:

SUGGS: “I was like Vegas, parlor tricks, you know what I mean?  I was like, ahh, Roger Goodell, he never stops, he always has something up his sleeve. He just couldn’t let us have this one in a landslide huh?”

LISA SALTERS: “So you think Roger Goodell had turned the lights out?”

TERRELL SUGGS: “I thought he had a hand in it. Most definitely, he had a hand in it.

“We walk out of the Denver game, and linebackers are warming up on their sideline, and who do we see talking with John Elway, and it’s like hmmm. I thought, your commissioner is supposed to be neutral. He ain’t supposed to be on one side or the other, he’s supposed to be in the box. I saw him on their sideline and I was like, huh, I know who he’s going for. I think he definitely has his favorites.

“He’ll deny it but, like I said when I run out of the tunnel, and the first thing I see is John Elway laughing it up, I’m definitely going to feel some way about that. You’re the commissioner of this league and you’re supposed to make sure everything is being played on an even playing field. I definitely don’t think he’s doing a good job, and I don’t think he should be making 10 million a year. That’s just my personal opinion.”

Just another line of BS. If there was conspiracy the pass interference at the 2 yard line with Crabtree would hav been called the Ravens won, leave it the f** k alone!!

Sigh...  Nobody ever said you had to have a brain to play in the NFL - for good reason!

Goodell should sue this delusional dope  for defamation. The Giants could have used a conspiracy the first time the Ravens won a Super Bowl

Ignorance at it's finest.

Yes, Mr. Suggs, in an attempt to keep viewers tuned in, people in the stadium, and vendors selling product, let's shut the power off.

Biggest event in the biggest sport in North America, and "Im gonna shut the lights off because I'm a Broncos fan".

How old are you dude????

Good thing they don't require intelligence and logic to play linebacker on a fizzling defense!

Not sure about the lights out conspiracy thing, but this statement is dead on!

Wow. They won the game and still they think someone is out to get them. I am glad they won but seriously drop it with the "grassy knoll" mentality.

@ConroyBodden right because when Tampa was destroying Oakland back in 2003, the commish put together a diabolical plan to get the Raiders back in the game. You got some evidence to support this absurdity?

@CharlesTerrito Never heard of a winning team whining so much about a game they won. First Ray Lewis now this. We're seriously supposed to take a man who calls himself "T-sizzle" seriously? Especially when he just spouts off on something he knows absolutely nothing about. Where's his evidence. Look, I can't stand Goodell either but this is just stupid.
