The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrating their National League West division title in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ pool has rubbed a slew of players, coaches, media and, now, elected officials the wrong way.

Arizona Senator John McCain called the Dodgers’ division-clinching celebration a “no-class act by a bunch of overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats.” The Dodgers clinched the division title on Thursday night in Arizona by defeating the Diamondbacks 7-6, and afterward a handful of Dodgers players proceeded to take a dip in the pool in right field. (See video below)

Diamondbacks infielder Willie Bloomquist said he would “expect them to act with a little more class than they did.” Bloomquist added that he would “doubt the New York Yankees would do something like that.”

The Senator should just worry about jumping in his wife's pool

My response to the D-bags is the same one I used when I heard people claiming that Usain Bolts' celebrations were classless.  Just shut up until you can Beat HIM !!!!!

How are the Dodgers the spoiled brats? It's the D-backs with the funky pool. Of course, every time they get in they'll be thinking Dodger Blue.

Let's see, I recall a team whose pitcher hit a Dodgers' pitcher with a pitch towards the beginning of the season, and then someone else on that team broke his collar bone.  That would be Greinke's collar bone, he who has not given up more then 2 runs in something like his last 11 starts.  I say party on in their stupid pool.  The D-Backs deserved every minute of it.  I cannot think of a better place to have clinched than in their stadium in front of their fans.  Revenge is sweet.

If there is any one singular group of people in this country who are spoiled brats it's our elected officials in Congress.  McCain needs to shut his mouth.

This guy is such a scumbag. Why would  anyone care what this warmongering neocon has to say. If you have seen any of his recent town halls you will see this guy doesn't have many people who think his word accounts to spit. The only reason I even clicked on this story was to see who the mccain was thinking they couldn't be talking about this windbag on a sports page but I should have known as this is a cnn subsidiary.

Although John McCain had his second wife buy him interest in the D-Backs. I find that he's behaving bitterly, vindictively, just like an old sore loser! But that again that's exactly how McCain has been behaving since the American people soundly reject him and his warmongering behavior for the presidency twice.

How quickly these infants forget - 2004 ALCS Game 7, Boston beats the Yankees in the Bronx, and spent a longlong time celebrating on their opponents' home field - grabbed dirt from the mound, tore up sod, even tried to make off with bases and home plate.  No one begrudged them these antics, it is the joy of beating your opponent in their house for crying out loud.

Where else in the majors can you jump in a ridiculous swimming pool in a ballpark to celebrate your victory?!  If you don't take advantage of this in Arizona, you won't be able to do it anywhere else - at least not yet?

The D-backs were ahead in this game 6-3.  If you don't want your opponents to celebrate on your home turf, don't cough up the lead.

Why is Sports Illustrated wasting my time even reporting what this guy might have to say. It's bad enough that news journals think his utterances are worth reporting. Report the damn story and leave the politicians alone.

Paging Barack Obama to John McCain's pool

John McCain is one of the whiniest, unhappy, irritable, non-cooperative and judgmental Senators there be.  Of course he's not happy.  But seriously, the Dodger boys had a little fun off the field with nobody around and not taunting any D-backs or fans.  The only lack of sportsmanship is Arizona's sour grape attitude.    And maybe McCain could do some of his own work in DC instead of poking his nose into this.

McCain should just STFU. If the Maverick hadn't run such a weak campaign in '08, we wouldn't have the current numbnuts in the White House right  now, planning a fake government shutdown so he could blame it on the Right and get Pelosi back as speaker of the Outhouse in '14. Really, I blame McCain for everything and encourage you to do the same.

@Mark112 It's not the numbnuts in the White House. It's our numbnuts in Congress. You must be able to afford or have insurance, A lot of us don't or cannot. The Republicans don't care about popular majority opinion, They certainly don't represent the majority. Really all they care about are their cronies and their fat pay check and benefits that the majority of Americns can only dream about..

@BobCampbell

You've been conned into believing Obama's predictably lame rhetoric.  Obama's premise is based on slavery in reverse, divide and conquer and have people that have earned degrees and good jobs underwrite the costs of those that want to live off the system. The Dems want to grant unemployment benefits for life as long as recipients remember to vote Democratic. BTW, your gal Hillary won't even win the nomination; Cory Booker will represent your Dems in the 2016 election.
