New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady gave high praise to Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis days before the two teams see each other in a Week 3 matchup Sunday in Boston.

The three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP said the 28-year-old Revis looks the same after missing most of last season because of ACL surgery. Brady said the Denver Broncos’ Champ Bailey and Patrick Surtain, who last played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, are among the best cornerbacks he’s played against, but Revis, a four-time Pro Bowler and former AFC Defensive Player of the Year, stands alone at the top.

Patriots.com has the transcript:

“He looks like the same. There’s nothing negative about his playing style, there’s nothing negative about his skill set. He can really do it all. He’s fast, he’s quick, matches up against small guys, matches up against big guys. He’s really long, he’s really strong, he’s patient. Some guys you really guess all the time and sometimes you guess wrong, he never guesses wrong. He’s smart, he sees the whole field. I’ve never played against anyone who is as good as him. He’s as good as there is that I’ve ever played against, so you just have to be careful when you throw his way because you know he’s going to be close…There are some great corners I’ve been able to play against: Champ Bailey, Patrick Surtain, and that goes back a few years, but yeah Charles Woodson, I mean I love the way he plays the game still. But I mean Darrelle is certainly at the top.”

Brady should look across the line at practice.His teammate Talib, is becoming as good as Rivas WAS. And Talib will get paid like Rivas after this season. He's off to a tremendous start. Talib should be in the Pro Bowl this year.

Brady is still mad at Richard Sherman, bro.

Seems to me Champ Bailey has made Brady look bad on several occasions.

Over/Under on Tommy Terrific going into politics some day?  The guy says the right thing at the right time pretty much all the time. (except when he's screaming at teammates during a game)

I don't believe most of what he says but, that's what you're supposed to say.  I doubt he believes most of what he says either!  See, perfect politician in the making!

Good grief, Tampa will have to purchase yet another helmet size for Revis.

I heard that Richard Sherman has kept the quote just in case the Seattle Seahawks meet the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Just in case.

Are you mad bro?

Tampa's defense is loaded. They are the opposite of Denver. Tampa has a splendid defense and no offense.

Tom's streak of a touchdown every game may end this week.  Normally a team with Revis would put him on the best receiver for the other team and lock that guy down.  The Pats don't even have a best receiver.  If Edelman is their best receiver that is just an indicator of how bad off they are.  Who in the heck is he supposed to complete passes to this week?  Pats can still win 6-0 as I fail to see how the Bucs are going to score.  lol

@JPG     Not likely that NE will get to the Super Bowl this year.

@OffshoreInsiders.com

I think the Broncos defense is better than you're giving it credit for.  Their front is extremely tough against the run, their LBs are able to hang with TEs and RBs in man coverage, DRC and Bailey make an intimidating CB duo, and Ihenacho is a force at safety.  If Miller returns to form and can put pressure on the QB out of a 4-man rush (along with newcomer Phillips), then they should be back in the top 3 defensively, just like they were last year.

@randomdeletion nothing wrong with short pops to Edelman and the others if that's what gets them down the field. he'll score.
