Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson will likely miss two to three weeks with a thigh injury, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s D. Orlando Ledbetter on Twitter.

Jackson left with the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game with the Rams, shortly after scoring a touchdown against his former team. Jackson, who signed with the Falcons this offseason, ran 11 times for 77 yards in the season opener against New Orleans.

Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling are expected to fill Jackson’s role temporarily.

Well...so much for the annual superbowl hype out of the ATL again this year. It's like the Braves just switch uniforms on Sundays...what a joke!

Jackson doesn't even want to play anymore; he just wants to get paid. The Rams were smart in not resigning him (this will be proven the case when Jackson is a DNP the next time ATL plays the Rams).

Go sign Michael Turner.  Why's this so complicated?

@Mark112 If you really believe that it's pretty clear you know nothing about Steven Jackson.  That sort of thought does not exist in his mind.

@RonE.Roberts Because he runs a 15.8 40, that's why.  Really not complicated actually.

@x72 If you think ATL could beat SEA right now you are out of your mind.
