James Harrison: Steelers lost their best offensive player in Maurkice Pouncey
Bengals linebacker James Harrison will face his former team Monday night when the Steelers play Cincinnati, but he said he thinks his former team is weaker without Maurkice Pouncey.
“They lost their best offensive player they had in Pouncey,” Harrison said on a conference call.
Pouncey, a three-time Pro Bowler and 2011 All-Pro, suffered a torn right ACL and MCL during Week 1 against the Titans, ending his season. Without the center, the Steelers will be using Kelvin Beachum instead.
Harrison, who spent 11 seasons with the Steelers, said he gave his new team “a few pointers” about how to attack the Steelers’ defense.
However, he did say he thinks the Steelers will regroup and put together a better performance than last week. He said he doesn’t think he will have anything negative to say about his former team.
“I was never a talker,” he said.
