Carolina Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander was fined $15,750 after throwing a punch at Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Breno Giacomini, according to a NBC Sports report. Alexander was ejected from the game after attempting to punch Giacomini.

Alexander’s mental lapse came in the second quarter after a 13-yard sack by safety Charles Godfrey was negated by Alexander’s penalty. The penalty wound up giving the Seahawks a first down in Carolina territory.

Veteran wide receiver Steve Smith was seen yelling at Alexander before Alexander was forced to exit to the locker room. The second-year defensive tackle recorded 2.5 sacks and 10 tackles in his first year with the Panthers.
