Tim Tebow, after being cut by the New England Patriots last week, has refused to change positions after a NFL team expressed interest in him, SI’s Peter King reported on NBC’s 2013 NFL Kickoff show.

Tebow wants to “keep the NFL dream alive” and has turned down offers to play in the CFL along with an offer from USA Rugby to change sports, King said. Tebow only wants to play in the NFL and will only return if given the chance to play quarterback.

According to a USA Today source, Tebow isn’t ready to give up on returning to the NFL, retire, or accept any offer to play for the Canadian Football League or Arena Football League.

After being released by the Patriots, Tebow took to Twitter to thank Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coaches Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels for the opportunity to play with New England. Tebow also said he will be in “relentless pursuit” of continuing his dream of being an NFL quarterback.

Not one team shaped their offense to Tebow’s strong points… but, he still had a miracle season in 2011 that no one will ever forget despite only being unleashed in the 4th quarter, usually in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.   Imagine what might happen if they shape an offense for Tebow (let him run outside the pocket and make plays) from the 1st quarter..  He certainly has 10x the heart and mind to win games than 75% of these QB's playing.  Broncos could have done more with Tebow.  I remember the game he only completed 2 passes.. they only let him throw the ball like 8 times!  Whats that about?  And he still won.  Against the Vikings they let him throw all game, he played great.  Same thing against pittsburgh in the playoffs,  316 yards and the victory.  In reality we all know why he's been booted from the league... lol

Tim Tebow is a winner in my book. He won games as a starter in the NFL and I think that he should go to a place where he can showcase his skills as a quarterback and as a leader.  I don't know what he has to do in order to play the position but I think that He can come back and make it in this league.

I have been a big Tim Tebow fan until very recently...does he know how many people would kill just to have a shot at playing in the NFL? Swallow your pride and be a team player and be a member of the NFL and bring what you can to a team, but just accept it won't be as a quarterback...I wish I had the chance to play in the NFL, in any capacity...suck it up Timmy your show is getting old...

Tebow is done. Shame he was too good to do the work and earn his place.

Wait a minute, what happened to the whole it's all about winning schtik?  The guy comes in to play for a team that was what, 1-5, hadn't been watchable for 7 years.  Turns it around, makes the playoffs, wins only the second playoff game that franchise has won since Elway retired, and made the Broncos must see TV.  He has always sucked in practice but gets it done on the field.  Glad to see my Chiefs spank the Jagwads who, despite working on another season with a half empty stadium, proclaimed that they didn't need Timmy.  Hell, they could use most of the guys, and half the girls, who post here.  I'd like to see him in the league just because he brings a level of chaos that is fascinating, but who has the stones to give him a try?  Could you see him as a Raider?  Wow.

Then he will continue to be a NOBODY and NEVER HAS BEEN!

It is time to remember the words of Rudolp Bing, former head of the Metropolitan Opera House: The Prima Donna Passes, the Opera House remains.

Good for Tebow. Some people have much to learn about character, determination, persistence and vocation for hard work.

Now we are talking about ego. If the NFL meant that much to him, he'd be willing to do what it takes to stick in the league. Instead, his attitude is that he's superior to the stiffs that play any other position and that he won't lower himself to play h-back.  Everyone keeps saying he's a good guy. Sounds to me like a snobbish, arrogant jerk who thinks he's better than his teammates.

I think it is time for Tim Tebow to try out for doing gay porno videos. Sort of straight for gay pay type of thing.

Either jesus and god hate Tebow or they're just myths like we thought all along.

He needs to swallow his pride if he wants in the big show. He would make a great H-back or slot.

That's too bad..he would be a perfect fit in the CFL.

If God was listening, Tebow would be magnificant QB. Unfortunately, either He isn't listening or is a terrible football coach. Move on, Timmy. Ain't no after-school/Chrisitan Network special waiting in the wings about your career.

I would love to see Timmy play rugby. I think he missed his calling. He'd be terrific!

The longer her persues his NFL dream, the worse he gets as a quarterback.
CFL is where he needs to go.

End of story

Tebow hasn't been arrested for D.U.I., fathered any kids out of wedlock or murdered anyone - so, yeah, let's go ahead and chop him up!  And we ALL know the reasons for some peoples criticisms - he's not black and he is a Christian.  He's got more character than all the thugs on NFL teams put together, so why doesn't everyone just give it a rest.

This guy is delusional. Apparently he's under the impression that the NFL needs him. For a guy that's supposedly religious, his pride really is getting the best of him these days.

Tebow will never change positions, it's missionary all the way.

What position??? Running back, Full Back, Tight end??? Maybe he should consider that God is asking him to make a change.... Just because he wants to be a QB, doesn't mean God wants that for him.... He should be willing to Change positions, given the opportunity...

Has he never heard  of "getting his foot in the door".  You get on the roster and if you're good enough you'll get your chance.  He wanted to run and hit people while he was quarterback and turns down an offer to hit people.   I don't get that.  Maybe his boyfriend Urban can give him a "job".

Well, now I know how Thomas Jefferson felt when his original draft got ripped apart by the Continental Congress. I played ice hockey for 15 years maybe I better stick with something I know about. At least thanks for responding to my gridiron wisdom!

No team has shaped their offense to Tebow...why should they? Who the hell are you to demand that your little Chosen One is entitled to play quarterback in the NFL? Most players would be grateful to be given another shot at another position, but not Timmy. No, he's too good for that. All of you crazed Tebow Ayatollahs can take your demanding, entitled selfs and put it where the sun don't shine

ScottSloan
ScottSloan

Suck it up, that's life. Vince Young won 25 more games as a starter than your Chosen One and he doesn't have a job either. Is it fair? Football is not fair sometimes. Lots of people dream of being in the NFL, but usually don't make it. Just because you think your little Timmy is something special doesn't mean you have the right to demand the rest of us think the same way. Time to man up and face the facts.

@talkepi Seriously?  First of all, the stadium was easily 3/4 full.  I checked to be sure, and it was closer to 90% full.  Not at the end of the game, but that's normal.  But hey, the story around TT has always been about hyberbole anda disregard for facts.

Secondly, Gabbert has what is widely considered the worst game by any QB in Week one.  Yet his numbers looked a lot like TT's career numbers.  Completed <47% of his passes.  4 rushes for 17 yards.

And if you think TT "won" the playoff game in Denver, then I guess you think Mark Sanchez is a stud, since "he" "won" multiple playoff games and took Jets to back to back AFC Championship games.

@Devil-N'-Chief Really?  Even though he is smaller and slower and less athletic than probably every tight end in the league?

Apparently his teammates just don't understand that they are only there for the Greater Glory of Timmy and his crazed zealous followers.

@whattheF Tebow is to slow and can't throw. How would he make out on a bigger field and with only three downs? He would look like a tank on a NASCAR track. Tebow is not a pro quality QB.

@Blusportie It must be tough being the only Christian in the NFL.  Oh, wait.....

The only criticism I have of Tebow is that he lacks the skills to play QB in the NFL.

Your post tells much about your biases.

normfarris4
normfarris4

@Blusportie and here's an interesting fact, 35-40% of today's NFL payers are evangelical Christians. So much for the league offices singling out Christians.

normfarris4
normfarris4

@Blusportie Sounds like you have an issue with people that aren't white and aren't Christian.  This isn't an anti-white thing, it isn't an anti-Christian thing. This is a he-can't-play-his-position-and-he-is-unwilling-to-switch thing. If anything, the fact that he is supposedly a nice guy is getting him more tryouts that he deserves.

sgregory
sgregory

@Blusportie Oh, so know Tebow is to be congratulated for not having been arrested or murdering anyone? That's brilliant. And I am one of the few (apparently) who didn't realize that the criticism of Tebow was because "he's not black."  Pathetic.

The bottom line is Tebow will only play quarterback because he has to be out front for all to see. I don't think he cares about the game; he only cares about being in the spotlight.  Tim should just move on and become a minister with one of those 15,000 seat churches where he can be seen on TV across America every Sunday.

@sgregory @Blusportie  so first you say it has nothing to do with his religion, then you make a comment about his religion? Move on and become a minister??? How disingenuous can you get, you pulled it off in the same sentance.

@p.law @Blusportie Christians are not under the gun. Not when the POTUS is Christian and the Congress is 84.7% Christian.  They are certainly not an aggreved minority, not when 77% of all Americans are Christian.
