Philadelphia 76ers forward Royce White, who missed all of last season as a rookie with the Houston Rockets because of an anxiety disorder and other mental health issues, is reportedly under investigation by Texas police for an alleged domestic dispute with an ex-girlfriend at his Houston-area residence earlier this summer.

The incident reportedly took place in June when a 9-1-1 call was placed to report a laceration above the eye of Tania Mehra, White’s former girlfriend, according to TMZ which posted pictures of her cut and subsequent damage to his home. At the time, Mehra reportedly attributed the cut to an “accidental fall” but two months later, Mehra filed a police report on Aug. 30 to admit that she had lied about the incident and that White was the reason for the laceration.

Mehra reportedly lied initially about the cause of the incident because she did not want to “damage” White’s career but in August stated that White had allegedly assaulted her after she became angered when he reportedly made advances toward her friend. Mehra also claims that White threw a candlestick at her but missed and instead broke a mirror inside the home.

According to the report, the case in under investigation and no charges have been filed against White or Mehra.

The news comes as another off-the-court issue for the 22-year-old White, who has yet to play an NBA game after being selected 16th overall by the Rockets in the 2012 draft. He has expressed frustration with the Rockets organization for not being understanding of his anxiety disorder and for not providing the resources that he feels he needs to deal with the issue. White refuses to fly on airplanes because of his severe anxiety and has instead played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. In July, he was traded to the Sixers but it remains to be seen whether he will make an appearance in an NBA game next season.

Punk thinks he's the only one on earth w/problems. Self absorbed, pampered loser.

The only way this kid will ever play is if he somehow gets sent back to his home in Minneapolis. He expressed how much he wanted to play here before the draft and I think being with his family will help get him back on track. Having a strong support system of his family and friends will help with his mental health. He has too much potential to just give up. If this kid can get his mind in check he could be a real diamond in the rough. As far as the girlfriend...How do you trust someone who lied to police in the first place? Seems like she wants revenge because of her failed relationship with an man who could potentially make alot of money in the future.

The Sixer's are going to wish they'd never touched this guy. You think Bynam sucked up the money and ran, wait until this loser gets going. He'll never play for them, ever. His 'condition' will always be in the way. The only way to get his butt on a plane is to render him unconscious first, put him in the cargo hold, and wake him when you get there.   Now he's supposedly abusing a former girlfriend? Well, that remains to be seen, but if guilty, confess, get help, leave her alone and work on your own personal issues such as your career. If he can't handle the life of a normal NBA player, let him go get a regular 9 to 5 like the rest of us. IMO, that body art tells me all I need to know about his intellect. Mature people don't do that.

Little late for claiming domestic violence, now it's just "he said/she said" and nothing will come of it.
