Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will make a guaranteed $41.5 million for the WBA/WBC junior middleweight unification fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Sept. 14, reports

He made $32 million each for his May 2012 victory over Miguel Cotto and for his May bout against Robert Guerrero. In 2013, Mayweather will make an estimated $73.5 million.

“Floyd is the biggest star in the sport and the best in the sport, and when you’re the biggest star and you are the best, you get paid the most money,” Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe told “It’s a truly blessing to be in that position to make that kind of money. Floyd has worked hard to put himself in this position. He deserves every penny of it. He’s the only athlete that has dominated his sport for the last 15 years and now he is fighting the best guy he can possibly fight.”

MANNIX: Boxing tempting sad fate with lack of drug testing

Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KOs) and Mayweather (44-0, 26 KOs) will square off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The fight could contest the all-time pay-per-view records of 2.44 million buys and the revenue record of more than $130 million that was set when Mayweather fought Oscar De La Hoya in 2007.

Alvarez failed to knock down old man Mosley, but he is supposed to do something Vs Flotd?!?!? LOL HA!

As long as Mayweather's reflexes hold up, he will be tough to beat.  Alvarez is a great puncher though.  He is also young and quick.  Should be a good fight.  PPV probably a little too rich for my blood though.

I'm looking forward to Alvarez knocking down Mayweather..  should be a good fight.
