Tim Tebow’s former quarterback coach Steve Clarkson believes Tebow might want to reconsider a different path to becoming an NFL quarterback by playing in the CFL, according to a USA Today report.

Clarkson worked with Tebow last February and said Tebow is better suited playing in the CFL this season. Clarkson said Tebow is “ultra-competitive” and sitting out won’t be an option for him. Without a job in the NFL, Clarkson urged Tebow to play in the CFL as he “may have run out of options in the NFL.”

Tebow was cut by the New England Patriots and cleared waivers which marks the third time in 18 months Tebow has been released. The Heisman Trophy winner played in three of New England’s four preseason games where he completed 11 of his 30 pass attempts with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

After being released by the Patriots, Tebow took to Twitter to thank Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft and coaches Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels for the opportunity to play with New England. Tebow also said he will be in “relentless pursuit” of continuing his dream of being an NFL quarterback.

I just want to say...this Clarkson fella is a moron....I listened to him.     Secondly, Tim should not frustrate himself....he always talks about God's Plan....maybe God has something different in store than the moronic NFL.....grow up Tim....move on.  Don't fester.

Tim Tebow?

LOL! Sure, dude can run, but this is a pass first league, with 1 less down to run a running play, plus the field is HUGE!

Suited for the CFL? Are you ppl kidding me? Have the vast majority watch an actually CFL game. 3 down football which, in reality,  is 2 down football to get 10 yards, because on 3rd down, you have to punt. Therefore, accuracy is the name of the game which Tebow DOES NOT have. Tebow has always had problems going thru his progressions and after his 2nd read, he takes off running. Now imagine Tebow going thru progressions of 6 receivers on a wider field. C'mon ppl

It is nothing short of comical for those who belittle Tebow and mock him.  Those of you making fun of him are the actual losers.  How many NFL games have you played in?  How many NFL teams have you tried out for? Your lives are so pathetic you need to tear down someone for chasing their dreams.  Which NFL teams did any of you play for in the playoffs?  Where are your Heisman Trophies?  Where are your collegiate national championships?

He was fun to watch in Denver a few years ago; including that lucky toss in OT to beat the Steelers in the playoffs, but his shelf-life has expired. Besides, we get beat over the head with the names Peyton, Brady, and even the occasional Favre to this day. There was no more room on the airwaves...

Funny.....Clarkson was quoted in USA Today stating that her had FIXED Tebow's throwing motion. Made a big deal about it. Looks like he didn';t even come CLOSE.

For all the bible thumpers saying he is Olsteen 2,......Joel makes MORE than most NFL players and don't forget his arrogant wife who got busted at the airport moaning because they didn't recognize her!!!! Kardashian lite, she is

When are people going to stop saying this ridiculous CFL stuff? The field in Canadian football is much, much larger. The lateral game is as important or more important than the vertical game. AND TEBOW CAN'T MAKE THE THROWS or read the defenses! He would be even worse in the CFL. He needs to go to the Arena League, where he's belonged since he left UF.

"...which marks the third time in 18 months Tebow has been released..."

I got the Jets and the Patriots. What's the third one?

The dream will be over for sure when he is cut by a CFL team. Time to take over for Joel Osteen.

The CFL is a passing-oriented league thanks to having three downs, with more passes for longer yardage, on a wider field.   He'll have to be able to avoid underthrowing receivers and be accurate.  I'm not sure the CFL is a better fit for him than the NFL.

@omahahobbs What's any of that have to do with the fact that the man is not an NFL level QB?

@omahahobbs That's fallacious thinking, but you probably don't understand that word.

@MarkMcClure The first clue should have been that an NFL QB, going into his 4th season, needed to learn how to THROW.

@JosephBagadoughnutz You must have a wealth of professional football experience to draw upon?  You must have a Heisman Trophy in a glass case in your double wide?

@JereGrad  I couldn't agree with you more. As an Alouettes fan (they own his rights), I'm afraid they'll consider it,with Anthony Calvillo hurting and aging. Working from the shotgun is common in the CFL,so that wouldn't be the problem. It's THAT ARM.

@WillWillis1 The article was definitely wrong.  He was traded from Denver to the Jets.

@astronix This guy is Joel Osteen 2.0, let me tell you. The chin, the eyes, the bible hand; when it's all said and done, Tebow could find his name amongst the greats easily. Canton, Ohio? No... Houston, Texas. (Not the NFL team of course; this is where Joel Osteen resides.)

Oh, who am I kidding... he's gonna be a politician

@Ebullient As a Canadian who has a mild interest in the CFL, I think he would be perfect for it. The D line must be a yard off the ball before the snap. So the QB gets a bit more time to read the defence. Also the Tight End isn't used that often, so it gives the QB a better option to run. Doug Flutie was said to not have a strong enough arm to play in the NFL (since he wasn't a pocket passer) yet was named the CFL Most Outstanding Player about 8 years. Not saying he will succeed, but with his athleticism, I think it's his best shot at being a professional QB.

@Lairdman @Ebullient Did you see the performance in week four that probably got him cut? Nine play, all in the shotgun formation (four sacks, one fumble, one INT) he was well off the line and not even close to being under center and he still got torched, by a bunch of third stringers!

@JereGrad  I'm not a Tebow fan, and am glad he got cut, but...that was a third string line in front of him too. He can't take all the blame for the sacks. This talk of the CFL is a joke...he cannot throw the ball at anything close to a professional level. He needs to start directing his energies towards another career, because football ain't happening for him. It's over.
