The Patriots have shown no signs of turning Tim Tebow’s NFL career around in the preseason, but their owner would like to see the controversial quarterback make the team.

Kraft said Tuesday via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com:

“I’m rooting for him big-time. He’s been real joy to have around. I see why he has such a strong national following,” Kraft said. “I’m rooting 4 him big-time. He’s been real joy 2 have around. I see why he has such a strong national following”

Kraft made it clear that whether or not Tebow makes the Patriots’ final roster cuts is up to head coach Bill Belichick.

“He has a pretty good record doing it,” Kraft said.

Tebow could make the team if Belichick and his staff elect to keep a third quarterback behind Ton Brady and Ryan Mallett, though they did not take that path last season. Tebow’s fate could also rest in the Patriots’ number crunching at other positions, such as running backs or receivers.

I love it when Tebow tries to play QB. On par with the best "Cheers" and "Seinfeld" episodes.

Kraft hopes to turn a negative into a positive... Tebow's -1 passing "yard" into a positive of 2 passing "yards" and the media was killing Geno smith a second round draft pick in his first start against the Giants front 7 and a first round pick 4th year pro throws for -1 yard and gets a pass...

Meanwhile, Rex the Wonder Coach - who hates Tebow - just signed his own death warrant by inserting Sanchez into the game in the 4th quarter, behind a scrub O-line, and getting him injured. For sure Geno Smith ain't ready for prime time. Does Rex the Wonder Coach wish he still had Tebow? Not a chance. This is why I think Darth Belichick is going to keep Tebow, if only to have him on the sidelines during the two Jets games and mess with the mind of Rex the Wonder Coach. Maybe even have Tebow run the option against the vaunted defense of Rex the Wonder Coach.

Had to smile when I read that.  Makes sense, especially now when Rex is in the deep s--t.

@kendp @leon1376 Rex has been in the deep s--t ever since Woodie fell in love with Sanchez and wasted a 1st round pick on him and certainly since he signed him to that extension. Woodie expects Rex to make a three egg omelet with one egg. See 'ya, Rex.
