Gareth Bale is “furious and frustrated” with Tottenham and did not show up for training Tuesday morning while he waits to be transferred to Real Madrid, the Guardian reports.

The two sides, however, haven’t agreed to a deal yet, as Tottenham claims there’s another bid in for Bale — which could just be a strategy for hiking up the price. Real Madrid is already prepared to pay in the area of $134 million for the transfer of the Welshman, breaking by about $10 million the transfer fee Real Madrid paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Real Madrid was hoping to unveil Bale, 24, on Tuesday and had already worked out a six-year package worth $15 million yearly with his camp.

The deal is done. The delay is for a couple reasons. 1) If Tottenham has 90 million pounds in the coffers, the price on Lamela, and Chichirites (sp?), and Willian, and anyone else they are bidding on goes up. Wait until the end, what does Madrid care? 2) If Tottenham sell now, Di Maria becomes surplus when Bale is in the Madrid ranks. Arsenal seems to be quite interested in him. Why not wait and screw over the neighbors?

I doubt Bale is REALLY furious as the article states. He knows he is going. But the media circus must go on. This is one Spurs fan that wishes Bale the best. He's done a lot for the club. While I don't agree with the sentiment that sometimes players "deserve a better club", I believe Spurs are getting ample value in return for Bale, so if he wants to go - best of luck buddy. I'll still be supporting him in a Madrid shirt.

You guy must be joking.  Tottenham are a second-rate side making an absolute fortune of off Bale and you feel sorry for a greedy SOB like Levy?

Bale is 24.  Now is his time.  And if you think any great players (Soldado is good, not great) will ever go to this club after the fiasco of Modric and now Bale?  Dream on.

Bale WAS adored by the fans but now after throwing tantrums like a small kid he has lost all the admiration. He must remember he has 3 years left on his contract and if he doesn't go to RM he is going to look the biggest fool ever. Contracts are contracts afterall and by not showing his hand and asking for a transfer he is showing that his heart is really in his wallet!!!

@BrianDraycott I have to agree with you, but at this point don't Spurs have to sell him.  They've already spent the transfer windfall from him and if he comes back he'd be poison on the bench.

@BrianDraycott I think he's doing fine. Nothing wrong with wanting to go to Real Madrid. And if he's a bit frustrated with Spurs for a few weeks - big deal.

@jeffrey.a.tyler @BrianDraycott They don't have to sell Bale. He still has 3 year deal, but like you said, they've spent a lot of money on new players. You have to think they were going to use the money from Bale's transfer to finance those deals.
