With EJ Manuel and Kevin Kolb injured, the Buffalo Bills will work out unsigned free agent Matt Leinart on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Bills also reportedly plan to work out former Redskins QB John Beck.

EJ Manuel is recovering from a knee surgery he had on Aug. 11. He has started rehabilitating his knee and the Bills said they had not ruled him out for Week 1. Head coach Doug Marrone said he would not discuss Manuel’s timetable for recovery until after preseason.

Kevin Kolb is currently out with concussion-like symptoms sustained during Saturday’s preseason game. Kolb has suffered multiple concussions in his career and it’s uncertain whether he can play, or what his recovery time would be.

With two potential starters injured, Buffalo needs a healthy option for Week 1.

Matt has this critics to be sure, but I think that he can not only play at the NFL level but he can start. He's better than Kolb to begin with (Kevin doesn't even want to play in the first place). People forget that Leinart was an effective QB when Denny Green coached the Cardinals, but was banished to the dog house under the micro-managerial tendencies of the soon-to-be-shi*-canned Kevin Whisenhunt (who Big Ben ran out of Steeltown for the same reason). If Leinart wins 6 games for the Bills he should be a Pro Bowl selection.

I object to this workout, unless the Bills install a sideline Hot tub for Matt Leinart's duration and do not forget to fly those chicks in on the red eye.... Seriously Bills just go with what you have for now until final roster cuts... What was J. Russell too busy getting his purple drank on?
