Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb left his first start of the preseason after just two offensive series on Saturday with “concussion-like symptoms,” the team announced.

Kolb took over as the Bills’ starter after first-round pick E.J. Manuel underwent a “minor knee procedure” and was ruled out for the preseason.

Kolb completed two of his four pass attempts for 16 yards and ran twice for 12 yards during his brief time behind center. He sustained the head injury after being kneed in the head at the end of one of his runs.

Kolb has a history of concussions. Expected to be the Eagles’ quarterback of the future, he suffered a concussion during the team’s 2010 regular-season opener, which allowed Michael Vick to gain the starting job.

After being traded to the Cardinals, Kolb then missed the final month of the 2011 season with another concussion, which he later said lingered for three weeks after the season ended. He signed a two-year, $13-million contract with the Bills this offseason.

Rookie Jeff Tuel, an undrafted free agent from Washington State and the only other quarterback on the Bills’ roster, took over as Buffalo’s QB during Saturday’s game.

Buffalo always seem to pay their QB's ,  the last few years,  about  10X more than their  worth ..

So you're saying that there's now some doubt as to whether Kolb ends up in the Hall of Fame or not? Believe me, the guy doesn't even want to play; he just wants to collect the money he's stealing from which ever team is stupid enough to have signed him.  Buffalo is doomed for trading Cookie Gilchrist to Denver forty-eight years ago and will continue to suffer the consequences for this shortsighted move. For now, the Bills should bring back Joe Ferguson and be done with it.

@Mark112    Remember Cookie Gilchrist  well ..great, great FB but uncoachable  ..Ended up playing in Canada last few years of his career ;  in fact CFL wanted to induct him into their HOF -- he told them no ..BTW ,he's  another great Football player from Aliquippa, Pa ....Your right - Kolb has never shown me  nothing ..
