Nationals trade outfielder David DeJesus to Rays
The move will mean DeJesus’ will be playing for his third team in a week. He was traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Nationals on Monday.
DeJesus, 33, played only three games and had four plate appearances for Washington. DeJesus is hitting .250 with six home runs in 85 games this season.
DeJesus’ contract has a $6.5 million option or $1.5 million buyout for next season and will likely be used as the fourth outfielder option in Tampa. The Rays are one game back of the Boston Red Sox in the American League East.
