Brian Wilson offered $1 million by razor company to shave beard
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brian Wilson, whose beard became famous during his time with the Giants, has been offered $1 million to shave it off.
“His management feels we need to match his present salary of $1 million at a minimum,” said 800Razors.com co-founder and president Philip Masiello. “The discussions commenced Friday and are continuing.”
On Thursday, Wilson made his first appearance in the major leagues since April 2012. He was a a three-time All-Star with the San Francisco Giants but missed nearly all of last season and the beginning of this year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. The Dodgers signed Wilson in late July and activated him earlier this week.
His beard gained great fame during his time in San Francisco. As of Thursday, a Twitter account for the beard had more than 15,000 followers.
