Report: Nationals trade for Cubs outfielder David DeJesus

The Washington Nationals have acquired Chicago Cubs outfielder David DeJesus for a player to be named later, reports CBSSports.com’s Danny Knobler.

DeJesus is hitting .250 with six home runs in 84 games this season. The 33-year-old joined the Cubs before the 2012 season.

The Nationals, with a 60-63 record, are 9.5 games behind the Reds for the second Wild Card spot in the National League. DeJesus’s contract has a $6.5 million option for next year.

They're only 15 1/2 behind Atlanta. This will definitely get them over the top.
