Report: Dodgers to activate Brian Wilson today
The Los Angeles Dodgers will activate former All-Star closer Brian Wilson today, reports FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal on Twitter.
Wilson, a three-time All-Star with the San Francisco Giants, signed with Los Angeles in late July. He hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since April 12, 2012, as he recovered from Tommy John surgery.
Wilson joins the Dodgers in the midst of one of the best runs in MLB history. Until a loss Sunday, the Dodgers had won 42 of their last 50 games, the best 50-game stretch since 1942.
Wilson saved 41, 38, 48 and 36 games during a four-season stretch from 2008 to 2011. If he is in form, Wilson could give a boost to Los Angeles’ bullpen.
