“60 Minutes” reports Alex Rodriguez’s inner circle obtained and leaked documents implicating Ryan Braun and Yankees teammate Francisco Cervelli in the Biogenesis scandal just days after the Miami New Times detailed Rodriguez’s use of performance enhancing drugs.

From “60 Minutes”:

The handwritten documents of Anthony Bosch, the key witness in Major League Baseball’s PED investigation, revealed comprehensive doping regimens that Bosch had engineered for a host of professional athletes. His cooperation with MLB has resulted in the suspension of Rodriguez and 13 other major league players.

Braun and Cervelli’s names were redacted in the Miami New Times documents. Members of Rodriguez’s camp at the time obtained unredacted versions and leaked them to Yahoo! Sports, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The unredacted documents also implicated Baltimore Oriole Danny Valencia, who MLB later investigated and cleared.

All three of the unredacted documents leaked to Yahoo! Sports list Braun’s name. One document shows Braun on a Bosch list along with Rodriguez, Cervelli, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera and minor league pitcher Cesar Carrillo, all of whom have been suspended for PEDs.

JAFFE: Why MLB’s new replay challenge system is wrong

Rodriguez’s lawyer David Cornwell denied the allegations:

From “60 Minutes”:

In a statement to “60 Minutes,” Rodriguez lawyer David Cornwell said, “The allegations are untrue and are another attempt to harm Alex — this time by driving a wedge between Alex and other players in the game. While Alex focuses on baseball and repeatedly states that he is going to respect the appeal process, the drumbeat of false allegations continues.”

Rodriguez is playing with the Yankees while appealing a 211-game suspension from Major League Baseball following its Biogenesis investigation. Braun accepted a 65-game suspension through the end of the 2013 season for taking performance-enhancing drugs. Cervelli was one of a dozen players who accepted a 50-game suspension.

What happened to "lifetime ban if he appeals"? This is the reason I lost the passion for baseball I had when I was a child.

This is a bunch of bull-croc.  MLB (Selig and his greedy owner cronies) are doing all they can to defame A-Rod because he is about to stick to them!  The gloves are off and they are playing some real dirty pool.  Anybody that thinks A-Rod is going to let them off the hook, has something else coming.  He bucked the "system", so he is going to dish it out as well.  Somehow, he is managing to bat a productive .289 since coming back, and the Yanks are beating the crap out of the Red Sox  tonight.  How about Soriano!  Four runs already driven in tonight, and they are in only the third inning!  With Petite on the mound, only Jeter is missing from the surging Yanks; ageless!

Come on Selig WTF is taking you so long from banning this puke immediately? This puke is an enemy on all sides. Maybe if enough people boycott MLB perhaps this puke might be banned immediately.

Ummm, Clemens? Wasn't he a product of the Boston system? And the others you mention (except for Andy) were kind of  part time seasonal workers and were not abusers on the level of A-Rod or Manny.

Too bad the Yankees picked him up. His first choice was the BoSux and he even agreed to a pay cut, but when Players Assoc nixed tha,t the Sux backed out and the foolish Yanks bought a big problem. He would have been a better fit for the Sux with the other big PEDs users Manny and Poopi.

The scary part people still support him and make excuses for him. I was shocked to see so many people cheer for him his first game back in NY.

So much for that old saying, 'Honor among drug users'.

I swear, A-Rod is more hated than Klingons.

Ban him today, kill his contract, erase him & all his stats from the record books & ban him from Cooperstown

Baseball must kick this dirt bag out of the game. Let him sue. The Yankees and MLB can counter-sue for every penny he was ever paid. But to let him keep trotting out and playing is outrageous. On the other hand - now that players see that A-Roid threw them under the bus, maybe catches a pitch upside the head.

Ok lets look back on some of  A-Roid's memorable moments in baseball...

A-Roid was the same guy who slapped the ball out of the first baseman's glove instead of running through the bag like normal players..

A-Roid yelled "i got it" causing an opposing player to drop the ball

A-Roid is the same guy that admitted to doping in Texas (while others believed he started in high school) then made up a story about his cousin, even when this guy is telling the truth he is "LYING" ..... and we are surprised this guy would rat someone out for self interest!!!

Just how much more could we hate this self centered monster?

Good god, as if A-Rod's rep could get any worse.  Now even other PED-offenders will hate his guts.

Who knew it was even possible for the most hated man in baseball to reach a new bottom? But like serial killers, tyrants, mob bosses and war criminals he probably isn't even self-aware enough to realize how despised he is.

Too funny.  Rodriguez is such a narcissist that he probably doesn't thaink he did anything wrong.

A Liar, a cheat, a now a snitch.

And people said A-Rod would never win the Triple Crown

At least it wasn't from TMZ this time. 60 Minutes is as legitimate as it gets. Not surprised to see A-Roid throwing other people under the bus in order to save his already disgraced reputation.

What a slimeball A-Fraud is. He has to be the worst disgrace in the history of sports.  Baseball has reached a new low, having A-Fraud still playing after all he has done to throw the sport and throw other players under the bus.  The other players taking HGH accepted their suspensions after being outed by A-Fraud's team.  Yet what A-Fraud did is far worse, lying, backstabbing, throwing other players and the sport under the bus and he's still playing?  Even though I'm a Sox fan, I won't be watching a second of this weekend's Yankee series.  I can't stand to see that loser on my TV.

you stained the game a-fraud.  time to go away.  you and your future lineage will be fine with all the money swindled from the fans and the game.

What is up with the medias obsession with AROD. What about all of the other names on the Biogenisis docs that have yet to be revealed?

gmag39

NOT being a Rodriquez apologist... but I take these 'media reports' with a HUGE grain of salt.  Just ask yourself, 'who has something to gain' by this type of story?  'The Media', as a whole, has lost nearly all cred as far as 'journalistic standards' goes.

@steamhead I actually believe the Yanks have had way more users than the Sox.

Clemens (during steroid era), Giambi, Pettite, A-Rod, David Justice, Stanton to name a few.

@Rickapolis

I can understand hating The Borg, Cardassians, Romulans, Lore, Changelings ( not Odo) or even Kromaggs from Sliders but never Klingsons, DS9 proved that to us... lol

I would say A-Roid is more hated than "Armus" the oil / tar creature that killed Natasha Yar

@jzty - You know what? That is a great idea - let's all boycott every Yankees game until this piece of crap is gone. I love Yanks v. Sox, but I'll be skipping those games.

@Schmeeboo   Perhaps it's because he's the only one of the group who won't settle.  Perfectly in line with the narcissist he is.  Why do we need the documents for the other players?  They settled.

@gmag39

This is 60 Minutes not CNN.  They have to fill 1 hour a week not 24 a day.  If the report was from CNN, ESPN, MSNBC or Fox then okay maybe.  60 Minutes is the real deal.  A-Rod has been busted yet again.  If MLB doesn't ban A-Rod for life then they need to reinstate Pete Rose and induct him into the HOF.

CobyPreimesberger
CobyPreimesberger

@gmag39 g mag he was the one who told us in 2009 that I used PED's from 2001-2003, but oh now all of sudden in 2004 i stopped and MLB has evdidence since 2010 and was still using last year and oh yeah it was also 60 minutes when he was interviwed by katie couric when asked directly did you ever use ped's, hgh and what was his answer no.  This guy is a scum bag and if i'm a pitcher i dot him or walk him every time he comes to the plate so he can never get another home run in his career

virtual_cynic
virtual_cynic

@morejunk @gmag39 Actually there was never any proof that what Rose did affected a game decision in any way. Can't say the same for Aroid - every game in which he played while filled with whatever banned substances should have every stat he compiled removed from the record and the game W or L reallocated based upon the result.
