Report: NCAA spent $150,000 on lobbyists last year
The NCAA spent $150,000 on lobbyists in 2012 and is on pace to spend about the same amount this year, according to a report by Politico’s Byron Tau.
Tau writes that the NCAA has focused its lobbying on “gambling issues and issues related to wireless microphones.”
In the first half of 2013, the NCAA spent $70,000 on lobbyists. Tau reports that the organization uses two “in-house lobbyists” and hasn’t hired an outside firm.
