Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress was carted off the practice field Thursday afternoon and returned with his right arm in a sling, per Dale Lolley of the Observer-Reporter.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported later Thursday night Burress had torn his rotator cuff and could be finished for the season.

The Steelers open the preseason Saturday night against the Giants.

The fact that this is bad news to the Settlers shows how thin they are at wide receiver.

The Pack have a shi load of receivers. Should send one to the Steelers for someone who actually knows how to play on the O line.

They carted him off the field because of a torn rotator cuff? Seriously? I've had two of them and believe me you can walk with a torn rotator cuff.

@NoQNoSuperBowl You think they diagnosed it and knew it was a torn rotator cuff while he was on the field? The reason they "cart" guys off is cause they don't know what is is right away and they want to prevent further injury. DUH
