Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings said in a radio interview Wednesday that he was  “brainwashed” when he played for the Green Bay Packers when it came to how other teams in the division were supposed to be perceived.

“One of the things that drew me to coming over here was the makeup of the team. When I came over here, I was kind of brainwashed,” told KFAN Radio, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

BURKE: 2013 NFL Preview: NFC North

Jennings played seven seasons in Green Bay and signed a free-agent deal in March worth $47.5 million with $18 million guaranteed.

“It’s like everything that you know in Green Bay is like the best, the best, the best, the best, the best,” Jennings continued. “And it’s like total brainwashing. And I think you don’t open your eyes to see what other teams have to offer unless you are in that position, and I was afforded this position.

Starting to get worried about and for this dude.  Maybe you've been drinking too much fluoridated water, Jennings?

I think he feels now he can actually fully enjoy the game. The guy hasn't stopped smiling since he came to training camp.... And yes it's not because of the paycheck..... It could've been a lot bigger elsewhere with his resume...

Have fun throwing the ball to yourself, Greg. Maybe once you realize Ponder is your QB, you'll talk to management and see if they can get your id10t sister to suit up instead.

Why wouldn't GB think they are superior?  They've owned the division the last few years.  I'm a Bears fan and respect the crap out of what GB has done.  I think Jennings is good but we will see how great he is without Favre or Rodgers.  I think he severely underestimates how good those two were.  Not thinkin Ponder is even as good as Orton was when he was with the Bears.

sounds like buyer's remorse. he doesn't want  to be in minnesota. too much run blocking, and not enough passing. that's what greg found out at camp.

For eff sakes, can't they find something else to write about? This running to Mr. Jennings for sound bites is really getting old. There are so many other topics on both teams they could be writing about, why aren't they? Please Greg, for the love of the grid iron shut your mouth and read your play book.

Truth is, I liked Jennings as a player, and I think the Packers would have like to keep him but too many injuries for him made them consider his value less than what he wanted.  The Vikings felt otherwise, so hey, it looks like everyone got what they wanted.  So then why the sour grapes man?  If not for the Packers and their success as a team (with and w/o him) he'd have never had that value on the free agent market.  Seems like he should be thanking them.

Jesus Greg, what team doesn't cast themselves in the best possible light. At least in the Packers case, it's mostly true, unlike the lies you're being fed by the Vi-Queens. Congrats on following Favre down the path of not having a team that will celebrate your career one day. Okay, they will still mistakenly celebate Brett's career one day. You, on the other hand, not very likely.. You should shut your mouth, apologize, and hope that you haven't damaged any chance of having a team that gives a damn. It's extremely unlikely you'll accomplish enough with the Vikings to be anything more than a tiny, tiny, footnote.

As a Packer fan, its just seems like he's forgotten how good he had it.  He will find out.  Ponder is not Rodgers and Jennings does not have other talented WRs around to take pressure off of him.  Sure he's on a team with a great RB but that just means less passing and more blocking for him, hardly the spotlight that he seems to crave.  Reality will bite.

Man got skill don't care what anyone says about the man he is a hall of fame candidate SKOLE Vikings packers are the cheapest team to pay there players yeah when you win a super bowl you need to pay your players. And I'm glad he getting this stuff out getting in there heads.

Sounds like sour grapes originating from a mentally deficient mind!  complaining beyatch that he seems to be.

Jennings is a candidate for Dr. Phil's show.  He is either a complete dingbat or the years of frigid winters in Green Bay have him speeding down the highway of stupidity.

I'll take dingbat for $500

I think the goal of an organization is to attract players by any means necessary. It would be surprising if an NFL told their players, "Hey this team sucks, and you don't wanna be here." Greg Jennings wants to have Aaron Rodgers be his QB again, so bad.

People are upset with Welker's answer to a SI reporter question?  Greg Jennings needs to be on the head injury list.

Bench this guy, coach. If you want any credibility, you can't let this guy continue to run his mouth after you asked him to stop. Now, the buck stops with you.

‘Brainwashed’ I thought that was only a NCAA,  Government, Hollywood, beauty industry advertising thing... Now the Packers are resorting to it, or maybe its just Greg Jennings showing the world what kind of simpleton he is

Wins a super Bowl with the Packers and then complains the organization has too much pride. We all know Jennings left for money anyway

That is a blatant lie. You have got to have a brain for you to get brainwashed.

I'm starting to think Jenning's objective is to have both Green Bay and Minnesota fans both hate him by the start of the regular season.

I cannot wait to see Jennings get LIT UP going over the middle in Lambeau. Oh wait, right. Jennings is much too cowardly to go over the middle.

Enjoy catching wobblers from Ponder.

Sounds like Green Bay really has it going on.  He just made them more attractive to free agents, but the thing is they tend to not bring in free agents.  They trust their drafting.

He didn't do anything to refute them being the best.  He drew no comparisons in Minnesota that suggest it is equal to if not better than Green Bay.

Thing is Greg, no matter how much you, I or anyone else hates it, Green Bay has a lot of titles over the years.  Only 2 in the past 40 years but that is 2 more than the Vikings have.  Also they have been perennial contenders going on two decades now.  That is pretty admirable.

I have been a Viking fan since Tarkenton.  I could not believe they lost all 4 Super Bowls, but they did. They are not my favorite team, the Texans are as I live in Houston, but I was a HUGE fan of Tarkenton and that got me to love the Vikings.

Green Bay has just been more successful over the long run and recent couple of decades.

Jennings, shut your trap.  Have you forgotten you play GB's defense twice a season?  Can't wait until someone pops him really good this season...

@Bigdog93 Don't know about that.  Looked to me like Minny panicked because they didn't get Wallace and threw a bunch of money at him so they at least got someone competent on the perimeter to throw at.

He should be, as that team mentality and having Rodgers as a QB made him. He's merely displacing anger at himself for passing on GB's offer, and having to accept the Vikings -- who have VASTLY overpaid him, given he's injury-prone and arrogantly self-absorbed (even for an NFL player).

Ordos762

@RussellKarmaKingCockrielJr.   Perhaps its ironic that the Packers offered Jenning's more money last year to extend his contract and he turned it down to test free agency.  To which the Vikings paid less than what the Packers offer had originally been.

@randomdeletion There are 30 teams in the league.  On average, it takes the average team 60 years to win two titles.  GB won two titles in 15 years, or 4 times faster than average.

@thayer57 @Bigdog93 Panicked? They paid a lot less to him than they would have paid to Wallace or Harvin had they not traded that headcase away.  Now Jennings just needs to stay quiet or he is going to start being perceived as a head case himself.

Alan16
Alan16

@beekay31 @randomdeletion No, there are 32 teams. In the nine decades that GB has fielded a team, it has won all the marbles 13 times now ... you're welcome.
