Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper returned to the team Tuesday after an excused absence and will take the field with the team in a joint practice with the New England Patriots.

Cooper was excused Aug. 2 to seek counseling after he was caught on video making a racial slur toward a security guard at a concert in July. The video didn’t surface until last week. The third-year pro was fined an undisclosed amount by the team and has apologized to teammates.

Quarterback Michael Vick has publicly said he’s forgiven Cooper, however running back LeSean McCoy said he “can’t respect a guy like that.”

Commissioner Roger Goodell said the NFL will not issue additional punishment to Cooper.

KING: Why I see Cooper getting a second chance

Cooper is expected to meet with the media later today. The former fifth-round pick started five games for Philadelphia last season, catching 23 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns.

When have you ever heard of a black person suffering any consequence for anything they say? I heard one say MF to her 4 yo 30 times and no one said a word to that piece of trash.

Saying that because "Blacks" use it all of the time is no excuse. "Blacks" don't use it as a derogatory term. "Whites" do. That's like women calling each other b*tches, but when a man calls them one, they get upset. WE know what "white people" mean when they say it. It comes from a long, nasty history of fear and ignorance.

LeSean:  I can't respect this man because he used the N word.  Maybe if he had sprayed water on a woman, then punched her in the face when she got mad about it, then kick her off a bus on the NJ turnpike like I did, then maybe I could respect the man.

@IndependentsDay Can't excuse what Cooper did, but for someone who probably uses the word on a daily basis, LeSean should have kept his mouth shut too.

@Cool @IndependentsDay Not excusing Cooper by any means, especially since he used it in clear anger and meant it in a racist way.  Just pointing out hypocrisy by people.  Let he who is without sin ....

Agreed! I just bought my first Riley Cooper jersey. It came with a free white pillow case with eye holes. I give him credit for saying it like a man. All the blacks use it all the time anyways............two way street

@JohnP LOL. Man, you're either a complete retard or just another troll. I guess that's what happens with inbreeding. Your mother (who's also your sister) should have taught ya better.
