Mets All-Star David Wright to miss 3-5 weeks with hamstring strain
The New York Mets placed third baseman David Wright on the 15-day disabled list earlier Saturday with a hamstring strain, but manager Terry Collins expects the All-Star to miss significantly more time.
Collins classified Wright’s right hamstring strain as “Grade 3″ and said Saturday he will be out anywhere from three to five weeks.
Wright is hitting .309 this season, with 16 homers and 54 RBIs. The Mets are 10 games back in the National League Wild Card hunt.
Terry Collins estimated 3-5 weeks for David Wright absence. Called it a moderate strain — the middle grade of 3.—
