Nike has severed ties with Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, who is currently serving a 65-game suspension, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports.

Braun, the 2011 National League MVP, was suspended last week by Major League Baseball for his ties to the Biogenesis of America clinic.

Braun has endorsed Nike during his seven-year career in the Majors, wearing Nike shoes and batting gloves. According to Rovell, the company had recently launched a Braun campaign, selling “Big Bat Like Braun” and “Braun Owns Milwaukee” T-shirts.

Nike parted ways with Lance Armstrong earlier this year after the cyclist confessed to using PEDs.

Hand over that MVP trophy to the rightful winner, Matt Kemp!

Still waiting on Braun's little buddy Aaron Rodgers to hand over his yearly salary to the fan he bet on social media over Braunie being a juicer.

Why is it that Nike tends to be only associated with scum? That company is pure evil and the biggest problem in sports today. They already control anything and everything espn and SI report.

Gee, ya think?! NIKE of late is getting burned from it's pro athlete signings. Then again, they can afford it. Look no further than that monstrosity they built for the University of Oregon's football team to the tune of 75 million dollars.

Another moronic Nike ad campaign comes to an ignominious close.

PEDs is the only reason Nike will dump someone.  It opens the discussion that an athlete's performance isn't due entirely to Nike gear.  Can't have that.

Guess it's ok with Nike to be a d-bag and humiliate your wife and family but Lord knows don't use PEDs. Then again, I thought "winning takes care of everything"? I guess Braun and the Brewers didnt win enough for Nike.

Why did it take so long? If Nike had honor they would have dumped him when he got off on a technicality last year.

Wow, Nike, a company whose obscene profits derive largely from selling overpriced shoes and t-shirts made in 3rd world slave labor camps finds Braun's conduct unseemly? Once more the pot calls the kettle black, to no one's surprise.

Tiger is golf, point one. Secondly, he has broken no PED rules within golf. None. Taking a Braun story to rip Tiger Woods? Hmmmm... Wonder why??? Hmmm...

... as Nike doubles down on that paragon of virtue, Tiger Woods.

@6marK6 Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe because most elite athletes had to cheat to become the best?

@6marK6 Their track record isn't too good, is it. I guess they've never heard of 'vetting'.

@Glenn8 "humiliate your wife and family..." You left out being a confirmed cheater since junior golf (rules) and a poor sport...

@Glenn8 Braun is not on the level of Tiger... That's why Tiger is still endorsed by Nike.

@JimCasey In Nike's defense, their atrocious labor standards are not only legal, but industry standard (unfortunately).

Braun's just a plain old cheater. Pick your preferred form of outrage.

@albertorama

Yeah, funny, isn't it?  Tiger had some kind of weird relationship with a renowned Canadian steroids doc.  THAT went quiet awfully quick.  What if there's something to it, and it comes out?

I wonder what Nike would do then?

@mystafugee @Glenn8 What's your problem? Of course he's 'mad'.  We should ALL be 'mad'.  You're a garbage sports fan if you're not 'mad' about a story like Braun's.

@kyyled5 @JimCasey I'm a Nike hater but those factory jobs pay better that most jobs in those countries...
